GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT CHANGE DOESN’T MATTER, does it?

No I haven’t lost my mind, and here’s why.

See, I have to live my life. I mean, we need oil and gas, right? I have to drive to the grocery store, to see friends and family, to restaurants, to entertainment places like sports and concerts. You wanna take away that standard of living? No way, you got a fight on your hands.

Those of you who disagree, why? Trust me, I get it. Global warming, sea levels rising, animals going extinct, deserts growing where our best farmland is, food prices skyrocketing, people dying by hundreds of thousands a day, this future sounds so bleak. I just want to go to the store!

See, environment change just doesn’t matter, I still want to do my own thing. BUT, here’s the problem. The world is run by money. No matter if you live in a socialistic or capitalistic country, your dealings with other countries has always been capitalistic.

So what? This just means that greed is not a moral question, not in the slightest bit, greed is entrenched as the definition of capitalistic virtue.

This means, while I am greedily fighting to keep my way of life, oil companies are greedily trying to also keep me in that way of life, and it’s all good! I get to enjoy my way of life and they get to keep getting rich, it’s a win-win!

So, global warming blah blah blah. Now, what might get my interest is if you could make ME rich! I mean, if you throw that in with the other things, I might care about finding cleaner energy sources.
